Installation of a step-by-step online donation module

1. Install the WordPress Plugin
2. Register on Whydonate
3. Setup the Plugin
1. Install the WordPress Plugin

Step 1

Find the ‘Whydonate‘ plugin in the ‘New plugin‘ menu and click ‘Install now‘. Or Upload ‘whydonate-donation-plugin.php‘ to the ‘wp-content/plugins/‘ folder.

Step 2

Activate the plugin via the ‘Plugin‘ menu in WordPress.

2. Register on Whydonate

Step 1

Register for free as a private individual or organization via this link https://whydonate.nl/create/.

Step 2

Go through the steps of the form and create your Whydonate donation page.

Step 3

Copy the ‘Slug‘ (last part of the Whydonate donation page URL). You will need this later when setting up the plugin in WordPress.

Example URL = https://whydonate.nl/fundraising/the-red-cross/nl -> Slug = ‘the-red-cross’.

3. Setup the Plugin

Step 1

Go back to the Whydonate WordPress plugin in the ‘Plugins‘ menu. Then go to the ‘Settings‘ menu and place the ‘Slug‘ you just copied in the input field.

Step 2

Set the donation button and the donation form further and click on ‘Save changes’.

Step 3

Place the shortcode on the page where you want the button to appear.
